We're still here...just trying to pass this bug that is going around!

Cason was sick this past week and is still not feeling the best, and now I've caught the bug.
We are both home watching movies, drinking sprite, gatorade, eating soup and are bundled up in this 75 degree weather.

Wishing we were at the beach.

Hopefully we are better for Christmas!

In my inbox this morning I found this:

I thought this would be great to have for the upcoming year. I made myself an "I will" list that will help me accomplish my goals for 2010.

Here it is:

I will document my progress throughout the year come January 2010. I am so excited about this!

What is your 2010 "I will" list?

This last weekend was a fun one!
Cason and I picked out our tree,

set it up, strung lights throughout, and decorated it!

On Saturday, Cason had his work party.
We got all gussied up and headed to the party in Huntington Beach.
We ate dinner, chatted and watched people dance.
It was quite entertaining and it was great to meet Cason's coworkers.
(us pre-party. We didn't get any of us there)

I am loving this time of year in California.
It's just cold enough outside (maybe a little too cold, but nothing as cold as Utah),
the leaves are changing colors and there is a light rain.

I talked to my dad on the phone last night, and he said it snowed about two inches and was about 27 degrees outside. I do miss waking up to that first white blanket of snow.
It is so pretty, and everything is so clean.

But the bitter chill...not so much!

Yesterday, Cason and I came home from church, changed into our comfys, brewed up some peppermint hot chocolate, and snuggled.

It feels like December and I love it!

{Thanksgiving and Holidays}

So...Cason and I drove to Utah for Thanksgiving. It was a full week of errands, family and food! We had so much fun! I am bummed because I only took about 4 pictures, but they'll have to do!

Thanksgiving morning Julianne and I woke up and went on a long run while the boys played a little football. Can I tell you how cold I was? freezing! But it was a great time! We came home, and my mom and I made these cute little turkeys for everyone.

We stuffed our faces, hung out and saw the movie Blindside. I am sure everyone has seen it, but if you haven't it is a must see! Very inspirational!

This little buddy helped me pack my stuff up. Such a cute boy!

We left on Saturday night and we were lucky enough to have my mom drive back with us.
She helped me do a boutique at one of the elementary schools here.
Although it was a few short days she was here, we had fun!
Thanks again mom!

And this is the only Christmas decoration we have up right now!
December came too fast this year. Anyone else agree?

Now we're off to the tree lot to find our Christmas tree!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Happy Decorating....

Bitter/Sweet

Film photography is a bitter/sweet thing.

It is so fun not knowing what your pictures are going to turn out like until you develop them, but then again, it can be tough. You don't know if the lighting is the best or if you should change something like you can with a digital camera.

I love developing my own images, because if you don't like how dark a part of an image is you can lighten it up! But if there is a pole in an image, you can't just photoshop it out. You have to live with it.

Which can be frustrating.

For my last film photography assignment we were assigned to take some portraits of a person. I had such a hard time trying to figure out what to do and who to photograph for this project.

A t the very last minute, the day the assignment was due, I asked one of my girlfriends from my ward if she would be my model. She is 31 weeks pregnant, tiny and gorgeous so it wasn't hard to photograph her.

She was such a good sport! We took these around 7:30am, in freezing water and she was happy to do it! Thanks again Erin!

(I had the negatives copied onto a disc at Target. I don't have a scanner, so I can't scan the originals. So they aren't the best quality, but I wanted to share.)

GT 2009

Last week a few of my girlfriends and I flew out to Florida for a friends reunion.
We stayed at this lovely house right on the ocean. It was beautiful!

My flight came in earlier on Wednesday, so Katie and I just hung out until the rest of the girls arrived.
We picked up the girls in this blue beauty, and that's what we drove around the majority of the trip!

It was actually quite fun!
Six girls in a six seater with no AC, windows rolled down, hair blowing in the wind...
It felt quite nice.

On Thursday, we jet skied, laid by the pool and chatted.

From L to R: Rebbie, Annie, Katie, Heather, Me (missing Jess)

Hanging out on the beach waiting for our names to be called for dinner.

the rest of the week we stayed at a beach house a few hours away...the weather was great!
A little breezy, hot and sunny!
And the sand was like powdered sugar.

We ate cinnamon french toast and omelets on the pier...

made and devoured pizookies...
played Flying Snoopy Ace of Spades and laughed our heads off...

and pretty much relaxed on the beach the whole time...

except for the last day!
Heather accidently scheduled her flight on the wrong day, so we were on our way to the airport so she could catch her flight
and on our way there the truck starting making weird noises and smelling a little weird.
Right when we got there the truck stopped working and we coasted in to drop Heather off.
The truck had a broken radiator, no coolant, and was a little rusty.
With a little help from my Dad and few guys that worked there, we were able to start it up again.

We made it on the freeway going 45 mph, then the truck slowly died on us again.
Immediately two tow trucks and a taxi stopped and asked if we needed help.

We were waiting on AAA, so the taxi driver told us he would wait until they came.
It was a little weird,
but after a few hours AAA finally came, and the taxi man took us home.

All in all we had a blast!! Thanks girls for such a fun week!
You're great!
