Saturday Beach

I know, beach pictures are pretty much the same, but I had to document our last full Saturday of summer.
Kinda weird, but here in our town, EVERYTHING shuts down the day after Labor Day.
They know best though, because it does start to get chilly.
(Good thing our local ice cream shop is still open till October.
And the Farmer's Market too!  Gotta love those honeycrisps...new post at a later date!)

We ventured down to the beach for our last beach day before it gets cold.
Hardly anyone was there, and it was quite an overcast day.
But we had fun, nonetheless.

Millie loves/loved it.
I didn't even have time to put her swimsuit on she was so anxious to dig in.
We bagged the suit because she was covered from head to toe in sand.

She took a little snooze while Cason and I relaxed and enjoyed the small waves rolling in.

We're heading to Olive Garden (random. All you can eat pasta, salad and breadsticks!) tonight,
and we'll be watching the BYU game tomorrow night!

Have a great weekend!

C.A.L.I.F.O.R.N.I.A.

While we were back west, we went to California to visit Cason's family.
We timed it just right so that we could see Cason's sisters-one who lives in Hong Kong and one who lives in Arizona.
We had such a blast!

Here are a few things we did:

Beach.
pool.
You & I Sushi with friends.
Angel's baseball game.
Family style at Maggianos.
Mexican food.
runs in Coto.
Beach.
breakfast with friends.
Spent time with family.
Golf.

Millie loved the beach...water. sand. toys. cousins. what more could a baby want?
It was so fun to see (almost) everyone!
We had such a fun trip and miss everyone.

Beach Day: Grand Haven

While my sister Sarah and her baby Wyatt were here visiting, we made our way to Lake Michigan to hang out at the beach.  It was an overcast rainy day, but we still had a great time!

There were kites flying in the sky, dogs for the kiddies to look at, and great people watching.

Millie's first encounter with sand...not bad on the eyes and feet.

This little mister loved the sand!!

Once we sat this little lady in it, she hated it!  But her dad saved her.
She liked looking at it better.

We walked on the pier...

and trudged strollers through the sand. (which is very hard by the way!)

We finished our day with a corn dog from a little yellow shack called "Pronto Pups."
One thing I'll tell you as that they were mighty good! (and cheap too)

Then we headed to "The Front Porch" for homemade ice cream on a cone.
It was to. die. for.!  I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

We all had a good time and look forward to many more visits!

We sure miss these two!

Happy Memorial Day!

Due Date

Well...today was my due date.

Boy am I glad I've already had my baby for 11 days.

Crazy that it's been 11 days!

Seems like just yesterday I pushed with all my might...

but it also seems like it's been forever.

Cason, Millie and I went to Salt Creek and hung out on the grass today.

It was a beautiful day.

A little windy, but it felt soo good to get out and soak up the sun.

Millie was good.

Except, I hate to admit it, but sometimes nursing is hard.

And sometimes it's easier.

It kinda just depends.

Often times I just want to give her a bottle of formula so she'll sleep through the night.

But I'm not giving up.

Slowly we're getting better at it.

Today was a good day!

Bonnie Bon

Yes, we are still alivejust been busy with finals, CPA tests, school and jobs. A little update on us:

Cason passed his 3rd CPA exam and took his 4th. Which is the LAST one!! Hallelujah! Praise the heavens! Now we are just waiting on results. Cross your fingers!

I started school on Monday and boy has it been a rude awakening! Not the actual school part, but the world that we live in. Can I just say how terrified I am to raise my children in this world?? There are some sick people out there.

This last week Cason had some pretty late nights. One night he didn’t get home till 1:30AM! I am starting to rethink his joband I think he is too!

I start work at 7am now instead of 9:30am. It is killing me! I was getting up before at 6:15am ish, but to go to work at 7am?? it's tough. (I do like it better though)

We are supposed to be moved out by the end of Octoberwhat do we do?? Why does CA have to be so darn expensive?

I live in a pretty quiet world! I wake up..Cason is already gone to work or is still sleeping, I go to school..don’t talk to anyone because either they are smoking, talking about how they are 7 weeks pregnant and don’t know how to tell their mom because their mom hates their boyfriend, or I don’t know anyone, and then I come home and Cason isn’t home yet. So I eat dinner by myself. Pretty quiet!

Last weekend some of our dear friends from UT came to town. We always try to get together with them whenever possible because we don’t see them much and we love hanging out with them!

We went down to T-Street,

ate a bucket o chicken from KFC,

chatted while the boys surfed

roasted marshmallows

and ate yummy s’mores!

Instead of chocolate we substituted Reese’s peanut butter cupsMMM!!!

after we left, Case and I went to get gas and this is what we saw. What does she think she's going to find in a Ralph's dumpster? Raw chicken?

Lots of (weird) people here in CA dig through dumpsters to find things they can recycle...you get money for it. Not a lot though. Only a few cents for every bottle you bring in. Not worth it to me!

(she was so engaged in her "digging" that she didn't even notice us taking this picture. flash and everything.)

crazy!

so..that's us in a big nutshell!
