{"Green" Smoothie}

Every time someone mentions the words "green" and "smoothie" together, I cringe.
And I'm sure most of you do too.

Fruit, and "greens" just don't go to me.  (except for in salads)

But, I have to say that I made myself a "green" smoothie today and it was phenomenal!

Here's the recipe:

DSC_0123

1 whole banana
1 1/2 cups spinach (or just a big handful)
1 cup ice*
yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice*
1 cup water*
and any other fruit you have  (I added a tangerine...because that's all I had.  But blueberries, grapes, strawberries, pretty much anything would be good.)

*approximately

blend it all together and voila you've got yourself a delicious "green" smoothie.

And it's good for you too!!

Enjoy.

What are your favorite "Green" smoothie recipes?  I would love to try some!

"The Lights"

While we were in Utah, we went to SLC to look at the lights.
 Even though, it's the same thing year after year, I always seem to enjoy it.

Before we saw the lights, we walked around The Gateway.
Millie was all bundled up, and could barely move.
I took her coat off when we got in the car, and she was sweating!
Hey, at least she was warm and not cold right?

After that, we saw the lights.
It was a fast visit, because it was so cold, (especially for the babes) but we finished it off with pizza at "The Pie" afterwards.  You can't beat their delicious breadsticks and pizza!

{twenty eleven}

We finally have internet, so things are up and running again.
Our stuff finally came late Thursday night, so now we are cozy and comfy in our new home.

Lots of catching up to do!

New Years Eve was fun this year.
We spent it in Utah with my family hanging out and enjoying each other's company.
Cason, Sarah, Jeff and I (and the babies)went and ate a delicious (but very filling) dinner at Tucanos.
Then we headed home for a few of the parties on TV.  The ball dropped, we drank our Martinellis, gave New Year's kisses, and played a little Scrabble.

It was fun to say the least.

"empty nesters"

We have arrived safe and sound to Michigan. Only problem, our stuff hasn't come yet. Who knows when it'll be here. We slept on the floor the first night with a comforter we bought at the local grocery store, and some pillows with no covers. I don't know how I used to sleep on the floor so much when I was little. Woke up the next morning with a sore back and little sleep. With a couple trips to the store, things are a little better. We have no tv, no Internet until now ( except for cason's phone, Which is very limited) and lots of snow. So, we've been playing scrabble and rummikub. And shoveling our icy driveway. It's been quite the fun adventure so far! We're really enjoying ourselves and Millie, of course! (Cason was changing her into her jammies and looked up and saw her like this.)
