{all in the name of love}

Our little town, Rockford, is home of the "Sweetheart Splash"!

I kinda feel famous, because my mom said she's seen it on TV before.

There were signs all over town publicizing about this great event.  On Saturday morning we ventured our way downtown to check it out.  There were lots of people there watching those brave souls "splash" into the freezing Rogue River.  Before they took off running into the river, they told who they loved and who they were "splashing" for.  Crazy?  Yes!

Don't worry that it was 30 degrees outside.
The whole river was frozen over.  It looked like they cleared out this section for the "splash".

This lady went in first in just her swimsuit.

  8. those people are CRAZY....you, Cason, and Millie are much smarter (and way more stylish) bundled up in your coats. Did you make Millie's headband?-it's adorable. I need help accessorizing a girl!

  9. Steph-yes, I made her headband. It's just jersey knit fabric. Very easy!

    Thanks for the compliments on my hair! :) You all made my day! Just when I'm feeling like I need a new look...Thank you!

  10. Millie always has the cutest headbands! My silly girls refuse to happily have anything on their heads. Grr....

    As for the pictures and getting them to smile- I act like a freak. I pull out my highest pitched voice, make crazy sounds and really just act like a fool. I guess one of these days they'll be embarrassed by it and I'll have to bribe them to get them to smile, but for now it works pretty good. :)

    And baby led weaning is basically letting your baby feed itself once they start weaning off of an all milk diet. So you skip the baby food stage and go right to table food when they're ready. (at least I think that's what it is...I'm still trying to figure it out) I know a girl who spent a lot of time in Africa and they naturally do it that way since they don't have gerber jars on hand and she's now done it with her kids and really likes it. I'm honestly not sure what the benefits are, but I do know that it works for a lot of people. We're still on the fence for what we're going to do. We have a seriously hard time making decisions over here!
