The Jobs Continue

Alot of you have asked where I am working. It's a doctor's office called Oso Family Medical Group. I work in the front office answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking insurance and all that good stuff. Every time I used to go into a doctor's office, I used to think that what receptionists did looked like fun...little did I know that it is not as fun as it looks!! It's definitely alot of work, and by the end of the day my back hurts from sitting all day! But it's a job, and what job is that much fun right?

Cason is finally home!!! He started on his first client today, and says that it wasn't too bad. Hopefully our lives become a little more exciting soon! Not a lot has gone on...just the same old work work work! A few weekends ago we went to San Clemente beach and ate dinner at this yummy pizza place called Cassano's Pizza, and then walked down to the pier. It was a beautiful night, but a tad bit freezing, so we didn't stay long!

And it was my good friend Heather Olsen's birthday about a week ago. She is one of the funniest girls I know-as you can see from this picture. Happy Birthday Heather!! Miss you!

Also, anyone know of any good hair stylists in the Southern California area that are reasonably priced??

The Real World

I guess I've lived in a box my whole life! I get the weirdest reactions from people when they hear that I am already married at the age of 20, that I have never and don't ever drink alcoholic beverages, that we don't party and get "wasted", and all those "fun" things!

Today at work, a new girl came in to cover a shift for someone else. We were asking each other the get-to-know-you questions and our conversation went something like this:

girl (Dolce is her name, pronounced like Dolce and Gabbana): Marie, how old are you?

me: 20

Dolce: Oh! Aren't you so excited to be 21 so you can go party and drink as much as you want?

me: uh....not really! I don't drink alcohol.

Dolce: What??!?!?!?!?! You don't?

me: Nope. (thinking to myself, 'is it that weird that I don't drink?')

Dolce: What do you do for fun then?

me: uh..You can still have fun when you're not drunk!

Dolce: Yah, well you only live once, you've got to try everything! You don't want to live life thinking to yourself 'oh I should've done this or I should've done that.'

me: right.

Then she hears that I am married "already" and says-well I hope everything works out for you! (as if it's not and that I shouldn't be married that young!) Who is this girl?? Am I that weird? Are us Mormon's that much different? I think not. The world is different! :) There were alot more things that were said that she thought were "so weird", but I won't share every detail....

Welcome to the world Marie!!

September tenth

We've been waiting for this day for a LONG time now, and it has finally creeped up on us! Cason's job started today at Ernst & Young and I am so proud of him! He has worked so hard to get this job and his dream of becoming a businessman has finally come true. Ever since we were little we had our "first day of school" pictures taken in our new school outfits. I thought I'd carry on that tradition in our family, except now it's "first day of work" pictures.

He left tonight to Los Angeles to train until Friday, then he comes back Friday night and is here until Monday morning when he has to go back to LA again for a week full of training. He comes back next weekend and then does the same thing for a WHOLE other week!! I am going to miss him! It was sad for me to see him leave, because we have done pretty much everything together this summer...but it is good for us and it's time for us to work and get down to business and start doing what normal people do. We've loved it though and are grateful for that time we've had together. We have been so blessed to find jobs, an apartment, and to have great parents who let us live at their house until we can move into our new place in October!

I don't want no scrubs...

After much searching, and with the help of my father-in-law, I finally found a job! I went in for an interview this morning at 9:45 very nervous, but was done by 9:54 with the job. Wasn't bad for a 9 minute interview! The only problem is I have to wear a tan top and black bottom scrubs EVERYDAY!! Now I can't complain that I don't have any clothes and I need to go shopping...Cason will be excited! I am thrilled about this job, and I start tomorrow morning! Wish me luck!

Knott's Berry Farm

Cason and I were tired of going to the pool, the beach and the mall so we switched it up. We put on our closed toed shoes and we were off to Knott's Berry Farm.

Our first ride. Neither of us have been on a roller coaster since we were alot younger.

This ride was our very favorite! It goes 80 mph in 2 seconds and then goes straight up and straight down. Scary but fun! We went on it a total of 6 times. There was an old man who was 72 years old who sat in the back of the roller coaster. His record is 124 times in a row and he has ridden the ride 24,000 times in six years...Can you say waste of time?? He must be retired with no wife.

I absolutely DO NOT like this ride. I think I am a little scared of heights. 25 stories high...wouldn't you be? We got to the top and I didn't want to ride it anymore. After it was over it was fun, but I wouldn't go again!

It was about 500 degrees outside, so Cason wanted to cool himself down on a wet ride...I think it did it's job!
